The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act went into effect on January 1, 2020, effectively eliminating the ability to “stretch” IRAs going forward, although certain individuals still can. SECURE Act 2.0 was signed into law on December 29, 2022, and adds multiple new retirement plan provisions.
