This webinar is designed to address what to expect in an external audit, and we’ll discuss strategies to assist in preparation for an external audit. This course will also outline how all the audit puzzle pieces fit together for non-profits, what deliverables an entity will receive, audit terminology commonly used by auditors, and the best ways to equip an entity for the best possible outcome.
Sarah joined the NonProfit Advisory Services team in 2019 with an extensive background in the not-for-profit industry.
Her career experience includes serving in various accounting and finance roles in institutions of higher education and religious organizations. Sarah also has additional experience providing audit services for a variety of not-for-profit entities.
Sarah is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. (IMA), and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Inc. (ACFE®). She holds the Certified Management Accountant® (CMA®) certification from IMA and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential from ACFE.
She is a summa cum laude graduate of Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas, with a B.B.A degree in accounting.
As a member of FORVIS National Not-for-Profit Group and FORVIS National Public Sector Group, Alyssa has over six years of experience in providing auditing and accounting services to a broad range of clients.
She works with municipal utility companies, not-for-profit organizations, including universities, private schools, foundations and health and welfare organizations. She has experience with Single Audit requirements, including student financial aid assistance and social services programs. In addition, she works with clients in the public sector and is a member of our San Antonio office’s Employee Benefit Plan team.
She is a 2015 graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas, with an M.Acc. degree.
